Editorial Policy
Our Standards
Metriqly exists to make measurements defensible. That requires independence, repeatable methods, and source transparency. We separate advertising/affiliate operations from editorial decisions and disclose all material relationships.
Independence and Funding
- We never sell rankings or conclusions.
- Some links are affiliate links; commissions do not affect outcomes and are disclosed where used.
- Sponsorships, if any, will be labeled and cannot influence testing or scoring.
Product Selection and Hands‑On Requirement
We prioritize tools that impact safety, cost, or quality in real jobs. We require hands‑on testing for recommendations. Spec‑sheet summaries are clearly labeled as previews until testing is complete.
Methods and Evidence
Every review notes references used, environmental controls, uncertainty considerations, and limitations. If a claim isn’t backed by a measurement, we label it as opinion or field observation.
Updates, Retests, and Corrections
We revise articles when firmware changes, standards update, or field data contradicts our results. Corrections are timestamped. Significant updates trigger retesting.
Conflicts of Interest
Contributors must disclose any financial or employment relationships with manufacturers or competitors. Conflicted contributors are recused from relevant coverage.
Samples and Long‑Term Testing
When manufacturers provide samples, we disclose it. Samples may be returned, donated, or retained for long‑term drift testing. Provision of a sample never guarantees coverage or a favorable review.
Data Transparency
We publish protocols and representative datasets. On request, we can share summaries of GR&R and uncertainty budgets for specific tests, subject to privacy and safety constraints.
Accessibility and Clarity
We write in plain English. We explain metrology terms and provide step‑by‑step technique guides (e.g., avoiding Abbe/cosine error) so users can reproduce results.
Use of Automation
We may use software to assist with editing and data analysis, but not to fabricate results. All measurements are performed and reviewed by humans.
